Guide to post-renovation cleaning
What is included
- Removal of fine building dust from floors, washable walls, frames and sills.
- Cleaning of light paint, filler and silicone residue from hard surfaces.
- Cleaning of new sanitaryware, taps and tiles.
- Accessible surfaces: sills, doors, switches and window frames from the inside.
- Detailed vacuuming and final mopping of floors.
What is not included
- Heavy paint or cement residue and the inside of cabinets and cupboards: paid extras you can add in the app.
- Removal of rubble, packaging and leftover materials: that is the builder's job.
- Façades and high exterior windows.
- Repairing surfaces damaged during the works.
How long it takes
Longer than a regular cleaning of the same home. Booked by the hour, from 2 to 6 hours per booking: after major works the full 6 hours and a second visit are often needed, because fine dust keeps settling for days.
What the price depends on
- Floor area and number of rooms affected by the works.
- Amount of residue (paint, silicone, cement) on surfaces.
- Number of windows and frames.
On Cura24h this service currently starts from €56; you see the exact price in the app before you confirm.
How to prepare your home
- Wait until the builders have finished and removed materials and debris.
- Make sure water and electricity work.
- Note delicate new materials (parquet, marble, resin) in the booking.
Checklist before the visit
- Works finished and debris removed.
- Utilities on.
- Delicate surfaces noted.
- Silicone and filler fully dry.
Common mistakes
- Booking while workers are still on site: the dust comes straight back.
- Using acids on marble or scrapers on enamel to remove residue.
- Furnishing before cleaning, trapping dust in furniture and fabrics.

FAQ
Questions about Post-Renovation Cleaning
How soon after the works should I book?
When the works are complete and silicone, filler and paint are dry, usually a few days after the builders leave, so the dust from the last finishes has settled.
Is a second visit needed?
After major renovations it can be: fine dust keeps coming out of joints and sockets for some days. A regular cleaning one or two weeks later completes the job.
Does the cleaner bring products?
It depends on the service you choose; the app shows what is included. If you have products recommended for the new materials, leave them out and mention it in the notes.
